Overview

In fall 2017, Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) brought us in as a key partner on their Carbon-Free City Handbooka project funded by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. Our role ranged from helping scope the final deliverable, to conducting detailed research for and co-writing much of the Handbook. Officially launched at COP23 later that year, the Handbook was an instant hit, garnering support and praise from organizations such as Bloomberg Philanthropies and America's Pledge. The Handbook was added to the official "climate toolbox" of many organizations and initiatives, including the NDC Partnership (a joint effort of UNFCCC and World Resources Institute). The early success of the Handbook spurred a follow-on companion project, the Carbon-Free Regions Handbook.
