CaseStudy-PenaMicrogrid-Hero

Overview

At Peña Station NEXT, a smart and sustainable greenfield development in Denver, Panasonic's North American energy solutions group and smart city teams collaborated on a unique solar+storage microgrid. As acting director of marketing and communications for those businesses, IPA Founder Peter Bronski led and coauthored a white paper on the microgrid, produced in partnership with Xcel Energy, Younicos, and the City and County of Denver. Peer review that included industry analysts and other subject matter experts from organizations such as GTM Research and the Energy Storage Association supported high-quality thought leadership. An earned media campaign secured coverage in both regional mainstream publications and trade outlets, including Greentech Media and Utility Dive. The white paper also became the foundation for the microgrid's recognition in 2017 as both an Environmental Leader Top Project of the Year and as a finalist in Energy Storage North America's Innovation Awards. Finally, Pete represented the project as a subject matter expert, delivering presentations and speaking on panels at industry events such as the Colorado Cleantech Industries Association, SEPA's Utility Conference, and Renewable Energy Markets.
