Rocky Mountain Institute’s ‘Economics of…’ Thought Leadership Series
Across the two years spanning 2014–2015, renewable energy think-and-do tank Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) published a quartet of market-moving reports. The techno-economic analyses examined how the declining costs and potentially scaling adoption of customer-sited solar PV, battery energy storage, and demand flexibility could disrupt traditional electricity markets and utility business models in the U.S. IPA Founder Peter Bronski served as a coauthor and thought leadership partner on several of the reports, as well as editorial and marketing director for the reports' production and launch. A long-running blog series on RMI Outlet, contributed articles published in high-profile venues such as Harvard Business Review, and extensive coverage in trade publications (e.g., Greentech Media, Utility Dive, Greenbiz) developed strong industry reach and traction.
